6 Ways to Handle Backstabbing Friends
A person can never get used to sudden shocks like backstabbing, back biting and betrayal. They always come as unwanted surprises and leave a bad taste. However, what you can always do to avoid them is to learn from experience and browse through these pointers to cope with such unpleasant incidents.
1. Forgive, but don’t forget
If you don’t want to get into complications, explanations and keep a burden of grudge against the said friend in your heart and mind, forgiveness is the best option. Whether they apologize or not, forgive them in your mind, but don’t be gullible enough to forget. Be wary of talking to them the next time, and don’t be as pally as you were before.
2. Confront them
When people back stab, the first question that comes to mind is why. You can confront the betrayer and ask for a clear explanation for their actions. Your friendship may also be saved as communication clears out many misunderstandings that may have caused the betrayal.
3. Cut off contact
Remove them from your life if the hurt is too much to bear and if you feel it’s a waste of your time and energy to be involved with someone who has so little care about your feelings. Cut off all contact with them.
