7 Tips to Deal With an Annoying Roommate
If you are currently dealing with an annoying roommate, our sympathies are with you. That being said, you don’t have to be the silent sufferer as we have here, a list of tips that you can put to use for dealing with such an irking situation.
1. Explain to them
Have him sit down and conduct a frank conversation about his annoying habits. Let him explain his stance and reasons for those habits. There’s nothing in this world which can’t be spoken about and then be settled.
2. Annoy him
The best way to make him notice his irritating habits, if talking doesn’t work, is to annoy him as well. Notice what gets his goat and do those things. He is sure to get your hints and back off with his irking gestures.
3. Be good to him
Sometimes being extra good to him can also work wonders. Maybe he is continuing with his annoying habits even after knowing they irk you, just for fun or to get back at you. Don’t let him gloat in the pleasure of having successfully irritated you by showing your displeasure and instead act normal or even extra good. This will puzzle him and when he doesn’t get the desired reaction from you, he will automatically lessen or stop doing things that irk you.
4. Drop in good flat deals
If you love the place too much to leave it, then make your roommate pack his bags. Find out some good flat deals from friends, newspapers or brokers and talk about them with your roommate. He will, in all probability get going.
