7 Ways to be Happy Most of the Time
Happiness is a state of mind and even though it does depend a lot on external factors, inner peace contributes most to it. The feeling of happiness should be omnipresent, specked with bouts of sadness and not the other way round. You can implement these tips so that your happiness quotient increases.
1. Don’t dwell on the past
Dwelling on what could have been and what you could have done or been makes no sense. It is never a good idea to think about the past, regret and feel bad. You are living today so be happy with whatever you have as whatever you have is more than what many people want but don’t have.
2. Read self help books
You can feel more satisfied and at peace by reading self help books which act as effective motivators and mood lifters. Pick up techniques and methods to stay in a happy frame of mind from these books.
3. Don’t make plans
Life doesn’t follow plans. It happens spontaneously, surprisingly and by chance. Making plans about the future leads to huge expectations and imaginary situations which we make up in our minds. When things do not go as we thought or planned, we feel sad and hopeless. Hence to avid such situations, just go with the flow and see where life takes you.
4. Live for the present
Like it’s not good to dwell in the past, it’s also not advisable to think about the future too much. Having a rough sketch in mind about how you want your future to be is fine, but remember that over thinking about anything will lead only to sad thoughts. The future of old age and more responsibilities feels bleak, so enjoy whatever you have today.
