1. Know that there is a problem

The first step to finding a solution is to realize that there is a problem. It is high time you stop being in denial. Stop feeling that there must be something wrong with you and stop finding excuses for the mistakes of your partner. Take up the courage and accept that there is some problem which needs to be fixed.

2. See if you want to get rid of the addiction

They say no one can help you unless you want to be helped. Once you accept that there is a problem, make up your mind whether you want to get rid of this addiction or not. Just like it is with any other addiction, breaking-free will take immense determination. You must be sure of what you want.

3. See if there is a pattern

Try and understand what you find attractive in a girl. Is there a pattern to it? In other words, do you usually fall for a certain type of girls? Figuring out the pattern will let you know which areas you need to work on.

4. Remind yourself how the relationship is harming you

You will not be able to break-free from an addiction until you realize how badly it is affecting you and your dear ones. Try to analyze what you are saying “No” to when you say “Yes” to the wrong girl. If you are constantly unhappy with your girlfriend, then it is bound to strain your relationship with your friends and family members.
