There is a good reason why your morning meal is called breakfast. You break your fast or the many hours of not eating through the night. A good meal in the morning not only gives you the energy to start your day healthy and right, but also helps you concentrate. A healthy breakfast is linked to your performance throughout the day and it is the most important meal of the day that you cannot afford to miss. Given its importance, a breakfast should be well balanced, nutritious and not too fat laden or sugary, as it helps you also to maintain a healthy body weight.
1. Bread and eggs
Eggs are not as bad as they are made out to be. It is filled with proteins and the right amount of fat. If you are conscious about your weight, you can skip the yolk and still make tasty omelets. With bread comes the carbohydrates. Since this is the first meal of the day and you are likely to burn all the calories, dig in.
2. Corn flakes
Corn flakes come in a variety of flavors and taste. Add milk and a little sugar to your cornflakes to make it more balanced. If you are allergic to milk, you can eat them straight or opt for milk substitutes.
3. Fruits and juices
Breakfast doesn’t have to be solid food necessarily. A selection of fruits like berries and banana with a cup of orange juice can do the trick too and give you the energy needed to tackle the day.
