7 Foods That You Think Are Good But Are Actually Not
5. Salads
If your salad is made with dressings such as mayonnaise, olive oil, thousand island sauce, etc., it loses its health value. These dressings are heavy and add to the fat levels of the dish. Have them without any dressing, and to add taste to them you can add oregano powder, chilly flakes, Tabasco sauce or lemon juice.
6. Ready made soups
Ready made soup mixes available in packets and cans are again high in salt, and packed with artificial preservatives. High intake of salt is as or even more harmful than that of sugar as it leads to increase in cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
7. Peanuts
Although dry fruits are considered very healthy and nutritive, packaged ones are not. They are coated with salt or sugar or artificial preservatives are injected in them, which make them unhealthy for consumption. Peanuts especially, are the most widely sold nuts and are fattening in nature. They contain unsaturated fatty acids and it is advisable to not have more than 5 or 6 of them in a day.
