7 Tips for Traveling with Pets
5. Mark them with some sort of identification
This is very important. Buy an identification collar for your pet which can be custom made with its name, address and an emergency contact number inscribed on it. You could also get a capsule that you can attach to your pet’s collar and store a piece of paper with all these details written on it. If the pet ever gets lost or misplaced, this helps a great deal.
6. Prepare them well
If you are going by car, be sure to first take your pets on short trips in your locality so that it is used to the feeling of traveling and is not taken by surprise when the time of the big trip arrives. Similarly, if you plan to take your pet in a crate, cage or tied to a leash, warm them up with these items a week or so before the trip.
7. The place should be pet friendly
First and foremost, you should see to it that the destination is a pet friendly one. Few places entertain animals and pets are not humans that can be taken here or there spontaneously without proper planning. Make sure the place you are visiting is a calm place as pets get agitated with noisy locales. The place where you would be residing should be home like and once there, there shouldn’t be more frequent traveling in vehicles.
