8 Things that Lead to Stress at Work
Work stress is a common phenomenon among working class people. This is because there are several factors that contribute to it, and the degree of tolerance for all these factors varies from person to person.
1. Deadlines
Workplaces that have high pressure and high stress environments are usually those that follow deadlines. Trying to finish tasks and projects on time is a major cause for stress among employees, especially as and when their position gets higher and workload increases.
2. Overdose of responsibilities
With great power comes great responsibility. When responsibilities of an employee towards the company increase, he feels more pressure to fulfill them diligently and on time. The loss of personal life in the process of doing so leads to stress.
3. No leaves
Jobs such as those in the media, government or medical fields have only one holiday per week and many a times employees don’t even get that owing to the huge workload they have to finish. Lack of holidays and not getting leaves when desired can leave a person feeling tired and unenthusiastic.
4. Unfriendly coworkers
For any place to be considered pleasant, the people there have to be so too. While offices are not for making friends, there are many places where the coworkers are not even cordial to each other and are downright rude or practice groupism. Unfriendly colleagues can cause people to feel lonely and sad at work.
