8 Tips for Safe Driving
5. Avoid driving in heavy rain, sleet or snow
When the weather looks tumultuously bad, such as during events of heavy downpour, sleet and snow or even too much fog and mist, wait for the climate to clear up before taking to the driving wheel. Most accidents occur while the driver is drunk or the climate is bad.
6. Don’t drive more than 6 hours a day
Don’t ever make the mistake of driving for more than 6 hours at a stretch. This is the limit of average human beings and crossing it would make you irritable and tired resulting in higher chances of accidents. Let someone else take over the wheel or stop for the night when on a road trip.
7. Don’t drive when angry or tired
When people are in a raged mood, everything around looks irritable and many rash driving incidents have happened because the driver was angry. Do yourself and others a favor by not taking to your car when you are red with rage; instead, stay put or use public transport. Same goes for tiredness. If you feel exhausted and all drained out of energy, the chances of crashing into someone or something more than doubles.
8. Update your car
There are many new safety-ensuring gadgets that can be attached to or in your car such as anti-lock brakes, traction control, GPS systems, etc. Make your car safer for others as well as yourself by investing in these modern tools.
