8 Tips to Be a Great Dad
5.Communicate daily
Even if you are away from home, call or email them, but be sure to communicate with them on a daily basis. Communication is one of the most integral factors in any relationship. Talk to them about how their day went, their friends or your work so that they know there is always someone they can turn to when a problem arises.
6.Be supportive
Unless your child isn’t doing anything illegal, support their decisions wholeheartedly while also giving your views. Parents’ approval is a big deal for all children and helps them build self esteem.
7.Encourage your kid
Encouragement is a virtue you should practice while dealing with your kids. The developmental stage is when a human can learn the most in life, so encourage your kid to take up various hobbies, courses, extra curricular activities and classes.
8.Be a friend as well as a dad
Last but not the least, learn the art of being a friend as well as a father to your kid. Don’t let go of yourself so much with your child that they take you for granted and don’t obey you. On the other hand, don’t be a strict parent whom the child is afraid of approaching and thus starts hiding things. The key is to maintain a balance between fulfilling both these roles.
