8 Ways to Deal With a Bullying Coworker
5. Ask your colleagues and team members to support you
If a co-worker is bullying you by continuously playing pranks on you, verbally threatening you, calling you by dirty names or making fun of you in front of other team members, ask your colleagues to support you. You will not be able to gather written evidence of such bullying but the support of your colleagues will add weight to your complaint.
7. Talk to your immediate boss
When you think that the bullying by your co-worker has reached a stage where you need intervention from a senior, go talk to your immediate boss. Request him or her to bring an end to the bullying so that you can continue focusing all your energy in performing better at work rather than wasting your time with unwanted harassment.
8. Talk to Human Resources
If talking to your boss does not yield effective results and the bullying continues, talk to an HR personnel. Show HR that you have documented the bully’s actions and you have support to back up your claim. Lodging a complaint with the HR will become a permanent mark in yours and your bullying co-worker’s employee file. So use this as a last resort.
