5 Ways to Avoid a Hangover
It is always fun to have those nights out with your loved one or friends and put in one too many drinks. When the place is good and the company even better, you lose track of how much goes in and the result is that you end up with a very bad hangover the next morning. The worst thing about getting a bad hangover is that you lose almost an entire day the next day. It is ok if you are out on a Saturday night and you can relax at home on the Sunday. But if it is a weekday and you have to be at work early the next day, it is wise to follow some of these suggestions to prevent a hangover and headache.
1. Drink Slowly
When you are drinking and are pub hopping, you tend to chug down a lot too soon. This causes the alcohol to reach your blood stream way too much quickly and causes you to feel tipsy more quickly. This is also known to cause a bad hangover the next day as the alcohol hits your brain way too much quickly. The best way to prevent this is to drink at leisure and take one sip at a time instead of gulping it down. When the alcohol hits hard, you also tend to fall down hard both literally and figuratively.
2. Stick to one kind of drink
If you do not want to end up with a bad hangover, then try and stick to one kind of drink during the night. Try to resist even if you are offered free drinks. When you mix drinks, the chances of your hangover getting worse also increases. If you are drinking beers, then stick to lighter drinks through the night. Do not mix heavy drinks like rum whiskey, vodka and other stuff with wine and beer.
3. Drink a lot of water while you are drinking
Water offsets the effect of alcohol in your bloodstream. You don’t get drunk too much and you also do not end up with a bad hangover. Water also keeps your body hydrated, so you do not feel all parched during the night and end up with a headache because of thirst in the morning after.
