7 Benefits of Doing Dumbbells
5. It offers complex motor activity
When you train with barbells or any other gym workout machine, mostly you are required to do a balancing act, that is to say, you must pull or push with both limbs in order to get maximum benefits of the workout. But in case of dumbbells, such is not the case. When training with dumbbells, you have to control two independent implements and not worry about balancing with both hands simultaneously. This provides a highly beneficial complex motor activity while exercising with dumbbells.
6. It is apt for athletic training
While exercising, you can go all out and very well go for explosive training when you are using dumbbells. Therefore, dumbbells are most apt for athletic training because other gym machines or barbells do not provide this benefit – there is only as much you could do with them. Also, since dumbbells do not require special equipment for certain exercises like bench press or squat rack, more number of athletes can train in a relatively smaller area without the risk of damage or injury.
7. It offers alternating or single-arm movements
Since exercising with dumbbells provide the opportunity of controlling two independent implements, alternating or single-arm movements are possible with them. Alternating or single-arm bench press, for instance, are very good exercises and well suited especially for certain athletes because there are sports movements which require the involvement and more power in one hand only – like volleyball, tennis and so on.
