5 Tips to Manage Time by Prioritizing Work
Prioritization of your daily chores can go a long way in helping you make the most of the given time. It is a habit that you need to develop with constant practice. We give you some of the ways in which you can manage your time successfully by prioritizing your work.
1. Have a master list
This is probably the simplest but a very important step. Simply write down all the things that you need to finish in the given time. Ensure that you list down both important and mundane tasks. It is extremely essential that you do not miss out on your routine chores and things that would seemingly take very less time. Remember not to rank the items but simply list them in a random order.
2. Determine your priorities
The ideal way to establish the priority of an event is to analyze what would be the consequences if you do not finish that task in the given time. The most important tasks will be the ones that lead to major consequences. By investing time in this step, you will be able to determine the level of urgency and it will help you put your time to best use.
3. Categorize the remaining tasks
The tasks that would have mild consequences if not finished in time will be your second priority. Next come the things that would not have any consequence even if they are left undone. Then, note down tasks that can be delegated. Be open to seeking help from those who are better suited to finish the work. This will go a long way in helping you manage time properly. Finally, list down things that need not be done today. Just cross them off the to-do list.
